Westport Festival of Chamber Music has grown in the past five years into a cultural event that fits seamlessly into the Westport autumn, yet with an atmosphere and a following all of its own. Everything plays its part in this collaborative sharing between musicians, audience members, venues, organisers and other local supporters.

Last year featured an exclusively string quartet concert for the first time. This year the festival will introduce a classic song-cycle from the German repertoire; and in a contemporary American song-cycle on poems by Yeats; and will have seven musicians collaborating onstage, another first for the festival.

The venues for the events will include Westport House, Westport Town Hall Theatre and Holy Trinity Church which continue to put their own stamp on the music-making.  The 2018 Festival will present six concerts over the three days.

The Westport Festival of Chamber Music/Féile Cheol Aireagail Chathair na Mart takes place from Friday 7th September – Sunday 9th September.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Town Hall Theatre Westport or by phone – 098 28459. For more information visit; www.westportchambermusic.ie.
