We are definitely starting to feel the effects of Spring kicking in now, and it won’t be long before the daffodils bloom and soon St. Patrick’s Day will be upon us. Until then we have put together our usual list of things you can do this weekend to keep you entertained.
1) Attend Circuit 2020s Virtual Poetry Slam
Circuit Arts Festival presents an online evening of poetry and spoken word hosted by Galway’s own poet, drag king and burlesque performer, Eve Shadows (Niamh Gilboy O’Toole). A selected lineup of performers will compete via Zoom for the slam prize of €100. Joining Eve Shadows on the judging panel is American poet and facilitator Beau Williams, and Galway poet and editor Laura Caffrey. Watch and witness a range of emerging styles and voices as Circuit Poetry Slam brings a new generation of poets to your screen. Tickets are available from Circuit 2020’s website. Be sure to tune in Saturday 6, at 8pm.

3) Take Some Lockdown Walk Snapshots
We all are well used to our lockdown walks by now, so why not try looking at the scenery with a photographer’s eye? Time your walks so that you get to catch the sunset, (or sunrise if you’re an early riser), and snap some Instagram worthy photos. We love to share wonderful and unique images of Galway so make sure to tag or dm us with your artistic endeavours!
