As restrictions ease once again, shops and non-essential services are open and just in time for the festive season too! Here are our top things to do this weekend to help kickstart this merry month.

1. Attend A Virtual Night At The Opera

Oranmore soprano singer Helen Hancock is presenting a virtual performance of chamber music and your festive favourites in aid of Galway Simon Community. The exclusive performance will be filmed from the beautiful surroundings of Armorica restaurant in Oranmore, and will be available to view from the comfort of your own home on 5 December at 7.30pm. Be sure to support this wonderful cause!

2. Book A Relaxing Wild Atlantic Seaweed Bath

Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths, established during the summer of 2018 provide one of the only fully mobile seaweed bath outfits in Ireland. It is definitely worth taking a dip in one of their custom Irish whiskey barrel baths. People who have tried the baths can attest to the incredible benefits seaweed baths had for their skin, aches and pains as well as how it contributed to incredible sleep afterward.

3. Get Out and Shop Local!

Retail businesses are finally able to open their doors again and the smaller businesses will be only delighted to see your face. Be sure you pop in and get the last of your Christmas shopping done. Just make sure you wear your mask!

4. Visit the Galway City Museum

Galway City Museum has officially opened once again. There are 3 daily timeslots available to choose from; 11:30am, 2pm and 3:30pm from Tuesday to Saturday. Admission is free but visitors must BOOK their tickets in advance online. It’s the perfect place to take a day trip and see their new exhibitions.

5. Have a Catch-Up Coffee Date

Cafes and restaurants have opened again with reduced seating. Now is a great time to arrange a meet-up with a friend or even just use this opportunity to get out of the house with someone in your bubble.
