With the dry spell forecasted to stay with us for a while, we have a roundup of the must-see and must-do events to enjoy in glorious Galway this weekend. Although it’s still advised to pop an umbrella into your bag, you know, just in case!

1. GALWAY GARDEN FESTIVAL
The 10th annual Galway Garden Festival will take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July at the stunning Claregalway Castle, and promises to be a very special weekend. Nursery suppliers from across Ireland will share a wealth of planting experience with all who browse the plant stalls’ extensive range of plants, trees, seeds, shrubs and a selection of garden equipment. A variety of food and drink will be available on the grounds all day Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can sit on the banks of the Clare River in the lush greenery of Claregalway Castle between expert talks or accompany their kids as they ride Connemara ponies on Saturday. 2. GALWAY INTERNATIONAL FOOD & CRAFT FESTIVAL
The Galway International Food and Craft Festival 2019 will showcase the unique diversity that the west of Ireland has to offer. Taking place this weekend, July 5th, 6th and 7th, the festival promises to raise awareness and offer fantastic exposure for the rapidly growing food culture in the west of Ireland. There will be offerings from artisan restaurants, organic and fresh food producers to international cuisine, all of which are available both here in Galway and the surrounding counties. A key feature of the festival will see a big focus on the emerging craft beer and boutique beverage market where unique brews, interesting flavours and textures can be enjoyed.

3. FLEA STYLE SUMMER MARKET
Flea Style Market takes place this Saturday 6th July 2019 at 12pm. The event is said to be an indoor “thrifting ground” for the hipsters & thrifters of Galway. The market has been up and running for the last four years, and is located inside one of Galway’s coolest haunts; Galway Arts Centre & Club Áras na nGael. Sinead Sheridan hosts this monthly event which showcases some of Galway’s most creative heads and has become a pure haven for thrifters with a big range of vintage clothing and pre-loved stalls. The market has a relaxed vibe about it, bringing you chilled out tunes while you browse the racks and occasional food stalls.

4. BRIGIT’S CELTIC GARDEN, ROSCAHILL
Brigit’s Garden is a Garden & Celtic Heritage Center on the doorstep of Connemara. The four main gardens represent Celtic fire festivals and are surrounded by meadows sown with native wildflowers, a lake, a fairy fort, and native woodland paths. Brigit’s Garden is the perfect place for a break just 20km from Galway City. Let the kids run off steam in our natural playground, and learn about science, history, and nature while completing our Discovery Trail game throughout The Gardens. The Garden Café serves up freshly prepared food, using the best local produce with fresh salads and herbs grown on site. A perfect place for fairy spotting on a sunny day! 5. BRUNCH @ HYDE
Add some sophisticated sparkle to your weekend with Hyde Galway’s ‘Bottomless Brunch’ which is served each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Hyde Bar & Gin Parlour. It’s the perfect location to catch up with friends, with the gorgeous flower wall and equally stunning greenhouse dining area. With delicious food offerings such as sweet waffles, French toast, and eggs benedict. To add some bubbles to your brunch meal, an additional cost of €12.00 is required per person. If we had it our way, every day would be a brunch day!
