The Vodafone Comedy Carnival is back and this year’s festival will be taking place over seven days and nights from Tuesday 23rd to Monday 29th of October, 2018 with and will have 70+ shows planned and 100’s of the world’s funniest comics lined up for your delight.

The full programme of events will be announced on Thursday, 23rd August next so watch this space!

The festival has made some changes behind the scenes too, with their favourite Artist Liaison, Martyne Green, stepping up as Artistic Director.

Martyne has been with the Carnival for many years, first as a visiting agent with numerous comedians and then as Artist Liaison for the last four years and brings a fresh eye and new ideas to what is already a great little comedy festival (even if we do say so ourselves!).

And long time company director, Simon Heaslip, is going to assume the role of CEO, overseeing the business behind the festival. Simon is a co-owner of The Roisin Dubh, The Blue Note Bar and Massimos Bar and has headed up Roisin Dubh Promotions for the last few years, looking after events such as the Galway International Arts Festival Big Top shows and bars, the Galway Oyster Festival bars, Connacht Rugby bars and the Galway Christmas market Bier Keller.

Gerry Nixon, Sponsorship Manager, Vodafone Ireland said:

“The Vodafone Comedy Carnival has been such a success over the past number of years and we are delighted to be involved once again as part of the Vodafone Centre Stage comedy and entertainment programme. The Comedy Carnival is a highlight of the country’s entertainment calendar and really reflects what Centre Stage is all about, connecting people to things that matter most – friends, fun and laughter. This year will see top class performances from both Irish and international talent and this, teamed with the brilliant atmosphere in Galway city, makes the Vodafone Comedy Carnival is the must attend event of the Autumn.”
