Tonight’s the night! Ryan Tubridy will lead a crew of young performers and toy-testers in this year’s Late Late Toy Show. Since it first hit our screens in 1975, watching the Late Late Toy Show has become an Irish family Christmas tradition. It is a cosy family evening, where all generations gather in front of the fire to escape reality for a couple of hours. Here are some essential items you need to make it the cosiest night in of the year.

A mug of hot chocolate

Hot chocolate

There is nothing more comforting than a big mug of steaming hot chocolate. If you’re feeling extra festive throw in a dash of cinamon for that added Christmas feel, for the night that’s in it! If you’re feeling extra extra festive, add in a hearty drop of Baileys! ‘Tis the season!

Matching PJs & fluffy socksToy Show X Penneys

The Toy show teamed up with Penneys to create a collection in aid of Temple Street Foundation, CMRF Crumlin and The National Children’s Hospital Tallaght. Get yourself and your family matching sets to snuggle up in while you watch the madness unfold.

A box (or truck-load) of chocolate
RosesNeedless to say, chocolate is an essential part of any movie night! In a recent survey, Cadbury Roses were crowned Ireland’s favourite Christmas treat! Build up a pile of snacks to keep you fuelled throughout. There’s no point starting a diet in December now is there?

A good old fashioned drinking game

Since you’re already staying up past your bedtime, why not imbibe in something a little more grown-up? It has become widely recognised that the Toy Show provides the perfect material for a successful drinking game. Every time Ryan changes his jumper, every time a toy malfunctions and every time there’s “one for everyone in the audience” – DRINK!
