The countdown is on to the Bank Holiday Monday, October 31st, when the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, in association with Blackrock Beachwear, are encouraging swimmers across the country to swim, splash or dip for the annual “Swim in Pink” event. The event, which is in its second year, aims to raise much needed funds and awareness for breast cancer research during the month of October, which is breast cancer awareness month.

Last year’s inaugural “Swim in Pink” was a huge success, raising over €30,000 for breast cancer research nationwide and it is hoped that this year’s event will be even bigger. This year’s Galway event takes place this Monday from 9.30am at Ladies Beach in Salthill. Registration is just €20 with all of the proceeds going to NBCRI and includes a free pink swim cap. You can register for the event by visiting www.swiminpink.ie

To help with raising much needed funds, Galway based Blackrock Beachwear have launched two custom designed “Swim in Pink” swimsuits and beach shorts with all the profits going to the NBCRI. To purchase either of these specially commissioned designs visit www.blackrockbrachwear.ie
