Salómae a dance and Irish language interpretation of Oscar Wilde’s classic. An Taibhdhearc will be home to this visually compelling piece. Breandán de Gallaí, most famous for his lead role in Riverdance and as a TV personality on TG4 is now Artistic Director of Ériu Dance Company has turned his attention to Oscar Wilde’s famed play, Salomé, for his latest show, Salómae.

The universal themes of the play provide the perfect palette to interrogate the social, cultural and political problems of modern day life. Through use of the voice, body, and music, which are seamlessly united, de Gallaí has created an exquisite dance work that is both beautiful and terrifying.

Salómae will run from the 11th to the 20th of July during the Galway International Arts Festival in An Taibhdhearc theatre, Middle St, Galway. Tickets available on on the GIAF website.
