Fiona Martyn and Diarmuid O’Callaghan celebrated an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends at the Loughrea Hotel & Spa.

Diarmuid & Fiona finally tied the knot on the 1st of May 2021. There was plenty of doubts over the last year if their Wedding would actually go ahead on this date with all the regulations but when the date approached there was nothing stopping this couple. Love was to conquer all and these two love birds who met in 2013 in Melbourne Australia where ready to become a married couple.
Fiona recalls the moment Diarmuid proposed on Silver Strand Beach in Galway, as the sun was setting Diarmuid went down on one knee and Fiona was in complete shock. From then, the planning began and they locked in the date and venue first choosing the stunning Lough Rea hotel & Spa as their location. The team were fantastic in the lead up and on the day.
The Bubbles were flowing and the music was the soundtrack to the start of an amazing day. “I loved getting ready with the girls that morning and the journey to the church was so lovely all the neighbours were out with bonfires.” What Fiona didn’t know was that her close friends who weren’t able to attend on the day due to restrictions were all waiting outside of the Church after the ceremony to get a glimpse of their stunning friend and her new husband. This was a really special moment for Fiona on the day.
When asked to describe their day in three words, Diarmuid says that’s easy – “BEST DAY EVER”. Fiona wanted to stress to any couple in doubt over their date “Go ahead no matter what number of guests your allowed. It’ll be amazing no matter how many are there. We had the most amazing day from start to finish, we never stopped laughing all day”
