The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting Ireland from Tuesday, 3 March to Thursday, 5 March and are said to arrive in Galway on their last day.
They will be meeting with President Michael D. Higgins in Dublin and will also visit Meath and Kildare.
It is their first official visit to Ireland and it comes at an ideal time with Galway named as European Capital of Culture this year.
The couple will visit the Galway 2020 offices and hear about the city’s environmental conservation projects and programmes for Galway’s youth.
Traffic toward the city centre will be blocked from 4 a.m to 1 p.m on Thursday.
Their visit was organised in a spirit of friendly relationships between Ireland and the UK, and as the Mayor of Galway highlighted, he expects them to get a warm reception when they arrive in the city.
