Undoubtedly, you want to feel and look your best when celebrating your wedding. This time of busy schedules and expectations can lead to high stress, inflammation and unwanted skin concerns. To reduce the likelihood of this happening, we have formulated a list of important things to prioritise in order to enhance your natural beauty and leave you feeling fresh for the big day.
Remember to prioritise yourself
Nothing is more important than looking after yourself. In this busy season of your life, remember to regularly safeguard time to step away from the to-do lists and check-boxes. Spend an evening or a whole day to yourself however you please. Not only will you come back more relaxed, but you will also be better energised and happier, which is key to healthy skin. High stress and cortisol bring out the worst in us, not to mention the impact it has on our skin. Remember to step away once in a while and let go of the pursuit of perfection.
Sleep
Sleep is not only vital to keeping us alive, but it improves our skin and mental energy too. Whilst you sleep, your skin works overtime with your circadian rhythm to revive, rejuvenate, and repair itself. To help boost the process, consider using an overnight serum or face mask that will promote a radiant complexion. For a restful night’s sleep, try adding a pillow mist, sleep drops or eye mask into your evening routine to help you drift off.
Meditation
Typically recommended for stress, meditation is also an unsung hero in terms of skin health. Slow, deep breathing while meditating adds oxygen to the skin, which is key in improving the appearance of skin at a cellular level. This increased oxygen rejuvenates your skin and transforms your body’s cells and tissues. Meditation improves your complexion, reduces wrinkles, and slows the ageing process from the inside out.
Listen to your body
While this is an exciting time in your life, it may also be highly stressful. You may be committed to a new exercise regimen and countless other tasks in preparation for your wedding. Amidst all this excitement and pressure, don’t forget to listen to your body and take breaks when you need them. There is enough time so remember to slow down and enjoy this period. Low stress levels are key to having more energy, healthier skin and a better outlook.
