The Portumna Shorelines Arts Festival showcases the creative arts for the community arts groups of Portumna, Co. Galway and from the surrounding area of Lough Derg and the Slieve Aughty Mountains. The Festival celebrates the arts in a variety of mediums and aims to encourage and support local artists to present their work.

The festival pays particular emphasis to literature, visual arts, drama and music/song, and guest artists are featured during the weekend event. The Shorelines Arts Festival also hosts workshops and opportunities to all groups within the local community to develop their imagination through art, music, drama etc.

The Gallery at the Workhouse, which was first used as a gallery space for the 2013 festival has now become a permanent art exhibition space for visiting art exhibitions and local artistic talks, workshops and amateur exhibitions.

The 2018 event, which takes place from the 13th – 16th September in the idyllic surroundings of Portumna and Lough Derg promises to be a feast for all visitors who appreciate the creative arts.
