The Irish Fashion Innovation Awards presented by Goldenegg Productions are now in their 9th year and will present a spectacular showcase from some of Ireland’s most promising designers on March 22nd 2018 at The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway. (formerly Radisson Blu).

These awards continually aspire to showcase the most cutting-edge designers and are recognised as a launching pad for Ireland’s most talented fashion creatives.

Previous winners include Carla Johnson, Natalie B. Coleman, Una Burke, Niamh O’Neill, Martha Lynn, Blaithin Ennis, Deirdre Duffy and Rebecca Marsden.

This year, a shortlist of 43 aspiring designers including 21 students from fashion colleges throughout the country will showcase their top designs in the hope of being crowned winner across the following categories:

  • Student Designer of the Year
  • Accessory Designer of the Year
  • Jewellery Designer of the Year
  • Millinery Designer of the Year
  • Fashion Designer of the Year
  • Ones to Watch
  • Overall Irish Fashion Innovation Awards Winner

The judging panel will select one overall winner from each category on the night of the event. The winner will be chosen by our three judges and will be announced at the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards ceremony. The judges for the 2018 Irish Fashion Innovation Awards are:

Eddie Shanahaneddie_shanahan

Eddie Shanahan is the Producer and Creative Director of the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards. He is a consultant specialising in fashion, retail and lifestyle. He works with a host of high profile clients, including designers , state agencies, blue chip corporations and emerging talent, in both the Irish and international marketplaces and is Chairperson of CIFD Council Irish Fashion Designers.

Carolyn Moore


Having spent over a decade working as a fashion designer – retailing exclusively through Topshop’s concessions department for five of those years, Carolyn started her fashion blog, The Dress Down.

Offering a light hearted look at the world of fashion and the big business of celebrity red carpet appearances, within six short months The Dress Down had won “One to Watch” at the Littlewoods Ireland BOP awards, and was a finalist in the Aussie Blog Awards; the Blog Awards; and the 2014 Blog Awards Ireland. The College Times declared it one of “8 Fashion Blogs Irish Students Need to be Following”,

In November of 2014, Carolyn became the editor of Like magazine, a new monthly glossy women’s fashion and lifestyle magazine for the Cork market. Combining her ability to create and recognise uniquely engaging content and her fundamental understanding of design from a background in Visual Communications,

Now working as a freelance editor, writer and stylist, Carolyn often lectures in fashion trends and design development. She also writes on a regular basis for The Irish Examiner offering her expert coverage of Fashion and Lifestyle features.

Patricia McCrossan is Managing Director at GALWAYnow, WEDDINGSnow and the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards

Patricia holds extensive business experience in the fields of fashion design, commercial management, retail, event management and publishing with an extensive portfolio of contacts in the areas of design, PR and media.

She established Goldenegg Productions and originally founded the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards in 2010. Now in its 9th year it has to date successfully showcased over 300 Irish designers. Goldenegg Productions continues to organise and run many Retail Fashion Trails in Athlone, Sligo and Galway, and a series of Blogger events.
