Award-winning chef Jonathan Keane of The Lodge at Ashford Castle, will cook a showcase of local seafood as part of Conamara Sea Week in association with European Region of Gastronomy, Galway. 

Award-Winning Chef Jonathan Keane to Cook a Local Seafood Feast at Conamara Sea Week to Mark European Region of Gastronomy, Galway. The 4-course dinner highlight is taking place on bank holiday Monday the 29th of October at 7.00pm in the Courtyard Café, Letterfrack as part of Conamara Sea Week.

Letterfrack native Jonathan Keane, the award-winning head chef at The Lodge at Ashford Castle, is returning home to cook a very special ‘Community Celebration of Seafood Dinner’ at the Courtyard Café on bank holiday Monday the 29th of October at 7.00pm as part of Conamara Sea Week and to mark European Region of Gastronomy, Galway.

Programme co-ordinator for ERoG, Galway Elaine Donohue said, “Connemara is home to some of the best seafood not only in Ireland but internationally, too. This will be superbly showcased during Conamara Sea Week, including at the community dinner event where talented chef Jonathan Keane will present a showcase of local seafood dishes. We are very proud that it is part of our programme of events.

The ‘Community Celebration of Seafood Dinner’ promises to be a true celebration of the very best of local produce which will be masterfully cooked by Jonathan Keane and his team, and served up with style and generosity. The four-course dinner will start with Platters of Local Mussels, Winkles, Clams, Oysters, Razor Fish, Smoked Salmon and Smoked Mackerel, followed by a Smoked Haddock &
Potato Soup, a main course of Hake & Pollock with Seashell Bisque, and a Carrageen Pudding to finish.

Leo Hallissey of Conamara Sea Week said, “We are proud and privileged to welcome home Jonathan Keane for this highlight of Conamara Sea Week. Being from Letterfrack, Jonathan is an expert in the local ingredients from this region. To have a chef of his talent cooking the world-class seafood we have on our doorstep means we will be closing out this year’s festival on a wonderful high.” The ‘Community Celebration of Seafood Dinner’ by chef Jonathan Keane is taking place on bank holiday Monday the 29th of October at 7.00pm in the Courtyard Café, Letterfrack, Co Galway as part of Conamara Sea Week in association with European Region of Gastronomy, Galway.

The cost is €30.00 per person. Places are limited to 60 and booking is essential on the Conamara Sea Week website, where you can also find out more information about this event and the rest of the festival programme.
