iRadio is joining forces with Lyons Tea and Pieta House to broadcast a special live show on World Mental Health Day. #TimeToTalk will take place in 56 Central on Shop Street in Galway City tonight!
Presented by Dave Duke from the station’s late night show The Hub, it will feature a number of high profile guests and campaigners who will share their personal stories and their tips for better mental health. These include David Burke Galway hurler, Choice Music Prize winners Rusangano Family, renowned street artist and illustrator Joe Caslin, Donegal Rose Amy Callaghan, Mayo footballer Donal Vaughan and award-winning mental health blogger Fiona Kennedy. There will also be performances from Midlands-based indie pop band Fallen Lights and Cork singer-songwriter Stephanie Rainey.
#TimeToTalk encourages families and friends to put some time aside this World Mental Health Day, boil the kettle and open up to each other over a cup of tea. On average, one in four people will experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives. Pieta House says that’s normal and we need to stop pretending it’s not.
This is the second year Lyons Tea is partnering with Pieta House to raise awareness and funds for the suicide, self-harm and bereavement care charity. The brand is producing specially marked Pieta House packs of Lyons Original Blend 80s during October, and for every box sold, Lyons will donate 10 cent to Pieta House.
