In Celebration of Children with Réalta

In Celebration of Children - by Julia Dunin Photography (1)

Réalta School of Speech and Drama together with Julia Dunin Photography are holding their first Photography Exhibition on Friday June 1st in Tribeton, Merchant’s Road, Galway. This exhibition will be entitled ‘In Celebration of Children.’

Michelle O’ Grady, teacher and founder of Réalta School of Speech and Drama, has always felt that adults have a lot to learn from children. She says “They have so many beautiful qualities and it is our duty as adults to help them shine.  The whole intention behind this photoshoot is the empowerment of children.”

“My suspicion has often been that their approach to life is much clearer and simpler than us complicated creatures!” states O’ Grady.

With this in mind, Réalta has teamed up with the incomparable photographer, Julia Dunin, who agreed to come on board to photograph the students. Dunin is a professional photographer with a creative approach towards commercial and editorial photography. Her main areas of expertise are portrait, lifestyle, and food.

As this is a passion project, they will be pouring all our time and energy into making this an amazing event.

The launch of the exhibition will take place at 6.30pm on Friday June 1st in Tribeton, Merchant’s Road, Galway. It will be launched by 2FM broadcaster, Louise McSharry. This also coincides with International Children’s Day.

About Réalta School of Speech & Drama

Established in 2016 by Michelle O’Grady, Réalta is located in Galway and specialises in one-to-one classes for both children and adults.  This includes those with Autism, Down Syndrome and other special needs and challenges. From her extensive work with children with Autism, Michelle began to notice how much they enjoyed and engaged with Speech and Drama and how it allowed them to express their remarkable imaginations. She also works with children and adults who don’t have any additional needs but who can feel shy or a little bit anxious.

Réalta also runs private group classes and works in primary schools providing Speech and Drama classes from Junior Infants to sixth class.

“She’s a happier child – more content – and Michelle has brought that out in her.”- The Irish Times, February 2017.
On June 1st, we want to celebrate these amazing children!
