“Inspiration is of simple things. Those that make our days better. Sunsets, natural curves, complete balance, scents of bergamot and basil, crashing waves, silence in chaos, all shades of green, rock pools.”
We featured Irish designer Helena Malone’s most recent collection in our winter magazine. Shot on location in Galway at Barna pier and beach, these images features rockpools, waves, lichen and rock textures that inspire her bespoke, handmade work. All of her stunning pieces are available here.

After being inspired by carving jade in New Zealand, Helena Malone left her financial job in 2005 to follow her heart and study jewellery crafting. From her Dublin workshop she creates stunning, bespoke pieces of jewellery using a mixture of traditional and modern goldsmithing skills. Inspiration for Helena comes from what brings her happiness and positivity; crashing waves, balance in nature, ordinary wonder, the challenges and science in making.
