The Galway International Arts Festival kicks off today and runs until the 29th of July. GIAF includes the ‘Festival Gallery’ and ‘Museum of the Moon’.

Museum of the Moon

Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon measuring seven meters in diameter and featuring 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface pictured in Shop Street, Galway as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.

Museum of the Moon is a new touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram who is known worldwide for his large scale public artworks. The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. GIAF runs from 16 – 29 July
