2019 sees the 34th edition of the famous Streets of Galway 8km road race, organised by local club Galway City Harriers.
Since its inception in 1986, the event has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in the country, yet remains true to its original motto of Sport for All, as many locals and visitors take on the event year in year out. Once again, the Galway Clinic will sponsor the race. The Galway Clinic is a Galway institution and is a major health provider and employer for the city and county. The race starts and finishes in the Claddagh area of Galway city. The course winds a path on the roads and streets through the city-center and out into the Salthill suburbs, before returning on the roads along the coast-line to Southpark in the Claddagh where the finish line is located. The event will bring 3,000 participants onto the streets of our city and suburbs into what is a fantastic event and evening in the city. The races take place on Saturday, 10th August 2019.
