Hundreds of restaurants, cafés and bars across Galway are partnering with local food producers for Dine In Galway Week. Taking place from the 5th to the 11th of November, this is a celebration of the European Region of Gastronomy 2018 title for Galway and a way to explore Galway through food!
Programme co-ordinator for ERoG, Galway Elaine Donohue said, “We are delighted and proud that Galway’s restaurants, cafés and bars are putting local ingredients at the centre of their menus for Dine In Galway in celebration of the European Region of Gastronomy title. Galway’s dining landscape is renowned throughout Ireland and internationally for being exceptional. The city and county boasts more than 350 restaurants — two with Michelin stars and now three having Bib Gourmands. Key to this success is the recognition by chefs and restaurant owners of the superb quality of the region’s local ingredients and the value of sourcing from local food producers in terms of freshness, flavour and sustainability.”
Hundreds of the region’s restaurants, cafés and bars, across the city and whole county are expected to take part in Dine In Galway and they will join up with local food producers on unique collaborations throughout the week.
Expect specially designed menu items highlighting first-class regional produce that showcase Galway’s world-class food and dining landscape.
The Restaurants Association of Ireland’s Galway representative Eimear Killian, from Brasserie on the Corner, Eglinton Street, Galway, said, “We are very excited to showcase our connection with producers for Dine In Galway.”
