Daniel Lambert’s Sticky Teriyaki Wings

Does anything sound more delicious or indulgent than a plate of hot, crispy chicken wings smothered in Teriyaki Marinade and dunked into a pot of cool, umami-flavoured mayo? We don’t think so either, here to satisfy your craving is renowned Chef, Tik Tok sensation and Obento Brand Ambassador Daniel Lambert. Serve them up on a sharing platter as the perfect grab-and-go starter, or as the main event with a generous helping of crunchy coleslaw. For non-meat-eating guests, swap out the chicken for cauliflower, et voila – you have the perfect veggie alternative.
Sticky Teriyaki BBQ Wings with a Japanese Mayo Dip

200g Chicken wings or cauliflower, sectioned out into bite-sized chunks

300ml Obento Teriyaki Marinade

200ml Obento Japanese Soy Sauce

300ml Buttermilk

400ml BBQ sauce200g Rice flour

Japanese Mayo Dip:

200g Mayonnaise

50ml Obento Japanese Soy Sauce

  1. Start by soaking the chicken wings in the buttermilk for 1 hour.
  2. Toss them into the rice flour and deep fry them at 180 degrees for 5/7 mins, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Mix the Teriyaki Marinade, Japanese Soy and BBQ sauce together to create a marinade. Toss the cooked wings in the marinade and set aside.
  4. For the dip, mix the mayo and soy sauce together, and stir well.
  5. Dunk in and enjoy!
