Beauty Inspired by the Irish Landscape

By Donna Reidy-Maguire

With a never-ending stream of beauty brands and products from around the world, there is an overwhelming choice when it comes to stocking your beauty basket. Ireland is home to spectacular natural resources which lend themselves to rich and abundant flora and fauna. It is no surprise that many Irish companies are inspired by the landscape around them to try to create indigenous, sustainable and beautiful products. Here are some of my favourite companies producing high quality product ranges with wonderful ingredients inspired by the Irish landscape.
EMERALD FARM

Jacob and Paisley Hervey, founders of Emerald Farm have brought their love of nature, their passion for health, and extensive knowledge in agriculture from California to the Garden of Ireland. Their range of CBD products are carefully blended with vitamins and other ingredients to contribute to your overall health. The crop is grown and hand-picked locally in county Wicklow, dried on-site within 24 hours and then cold-pressed, allowing the crop to retain a majority of its nutrients. Their three core products are Relax, Boost, and Original and with these, they aim to bring you on a wellness journey and provide you with the necessary nutrients your body may need.

VOYA

In 2006, Mark and Kira Walton decided to trade in their hectic corporate careers in Dublin for the quieter pace of life in Sligo on the West Coast of Ireland. Mark’s father, the late Michael Walton, was one of the original forces behind the organic farming movement in Ireland. His respect for sustainability and the power of seaweed was instilled in his children and sparked passion and innovation within them. Initially, they joined the family business, a traditional seaweed bathing house but the demand for at home seaweed products led them to research other possibilities. The first product was a retail seaweed bath called Lazy Days which proved so popular that it inspired them to delve into the world of skincare. Now with over 50 products and stocked worldwide, VOYA has become a leading global lifestyle brand promoting sustainable organic luxury.
