Transatlantic Americana duo, A Different Thread, is a collaboration between Robert Jackson from Lichfield, England, and Alicia Best from Durham, North Carolina.

Both are songwriters and multi-instrumentalists and both take inspiration from the music that has crisscrossed the Atlantic Ocean over the generations, in true folk fashion. Think Beatlesque folk rock meets Gillian Welch dark country. The couple originally met busking on Shop Street back in 2016 and this show marks the third anniversary of their chance meeting.

Since their last performance in Galway, they’ve released their debut album, On A Whim, and are now on tour for a month in Ireland, following six months of dates in the USA, Mexico and Guatemala.

When: RÓISÍN DUBH, Saturday 18th May.
