5 Makeup Trends to Recreate Using Irish Brands

Searching for new ways to change up your makeup routine this season? Here are five makeup trends for Spring 2023, along with some of our favourite Irish products that you can use to recreate them.

  1.       Bright Blush

Blush has been making its way back to being a makeup bag staple recently, and it’s not going anywhere this Spring. Putting blush on the high points of your face will add a pop of colour, making you look radiant and healthy. Using a blush like this cream one from Ayu Cosmetics along your cheekbones and your temples will give the effect of a gorgeous Sunkissed glow.

  1.       No Make Up, Make Up

Recently makeup trends have been leaning more and more towards natural looks. This spring people are set to be embracing their natural beauty and choosing make up that looks like their own skin and emphasises their natural features. Use a lightweight foundation, like the Second Skin Dewy foundation from Sculpted By Aimee to achieve a glowy, dewy complexion that looks like your own skin.

  1.       Underpainting

Underpainting is a technique where you apply cream contour products before applying foundation, rather than after. This technique is used by celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips on models such as Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner to achieve a more natural and flawless finish to their makeup. Use the SoSu Contouring Cream stick below the cheekbones, along the hairline and under your jawline before applying foundation to recreate this technique.

  1.       Statement Lips

Many celebrities have been choosing to make a statement with a bold red lip recently, from Rihanna’s fiery lipstick at the Super Bowl halftime show to Lady Gaga’s bright lip on the Oscars red carpet. Keep the rest of your makeup simple and let your lips do the talking with an eye-catching red lipstick, like this one from Up Cosmetics in the shade Siren.

  1.       90s Grunge

2000s inspired make up was everywhere in 2022, but this year we are going back to the 90s. At New York Fashion Weeks SS23 shows, many models were seen sporting 90s grunge inspired makeup looks. The best part about the looks that rocked the 90s is that they are meant to look imperfect and smudged, making them easy for anyone to achieve. Smudge this Kash Beauty Gel pencil in the shade ‘Smoulder’ along your lash line for a grungy eye that would look right at home on a 90s red carpet.
