With the world feeling extremely heavy at the moment, it’s important to look after your mind and body. Meeting your own needs should be the number one priority. You can’t give from an empty glass, so fill up! Here are a few of my self-care favourites.

1. Japanese Camellia Cream- The Body Shop – €27.00
I’ve tried several of the Body Shop creams over the years, and this is by far my favourite. The velvety texture leaves your skin feeling calm and smooth. This is such a treat after a warm shower as the aromatic fragrance relaxes both body and mind. I also loved how fast it absorbs into the skin.

2. The little Book of Humanism – Andrew Copson & Alice Roberts – €9.99
I was gifted this by a friend a while ago. This little book is a collection of ways to live a fulfilling life, through stories, meditations and quotes. You might not think this is your kind of thing, but anytime my head feels heavy this book seems to find me and pick me up. It’s so easy to dip in and out of, teaching you ‘’universal lessons on finding purpose, meaning and joy’’. A fantastic introduction to a new way of thinking.

3. Night-time organic herbal tea, Pukka – €3.59
Over lockdown, I was on a mission to draw a line on my coffee addiction. I am a bit of a hot drink connoisseur. This Pukka blend is by far my favourite to help me unwind (a must for an evening of self-care). Blended with Oat flower, Lavender and Lime flower and 100% caffeine-free.

4. Remedies Beauty Sleep Foaming Bath, Neal’s Yard- €17.67
A real treat for bath lovers. I saw Jamie Genevieve recommend this and had to jump on it. Baths are essential in my self-care routines. This luxurious foaming bath leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and prepped for bed. Your bathroom will smell like a spa! Also, it would make a lovely gift for Christmas.

5. Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, Glamglow – €50.00
This facemask is for sure on the pricier side at €50.00, but it’s worth it! I have extremely sensitive skin, so I find it difficult to find masks that don’t create that tight, irritable feeling. Packed with soothing botanicals, this mask leaves my skin feeling hydrated and calm. I use it twice a week for about 20 minutes, just before bed. I noticed a real difference after first use and felt like my makeup went on flawlessly the next day.
