The 2019 Georgina Campbell Awards Introduce A New Category Dedicated to Galway, West of Ireland European Region of Gastronomy.

The Galway winners of the new 2019 Georgina Campbell Spirit of ‘The European Region of Gastronomy’ Award were announced on Tuesday 25th September at the 2019 awards ceremony in Dublin.

Programme Coordinator for Galway ERoG, Elaine Donohue, said, “We are delighted to collaborate with the Georgina Campbell Awards this year. Georgina Campbell is renowned in the food industry in Ireland for highlighting all that is best in Irish food, and the new Spirit of ‘The European Region of Gastronomy’ Award puts the focus on Galway.

The recipients of the new three-part Spirit of ‘The European Region of Gastronomy’ Award are The Twelve, Barna for ‘Hospitality’, Beechlawn Organic Farm for ‘From The Land’, and Gannet Fishmongers for ‘From The Sea’.

According to the 2019 Georgina Campbell Awards’ organisers, “The three individual awards complement each other to illustrate the ‘working together’ aims of the Spirit of ‘The European Region of Gastronomy’ Award. The award shows how an inspired hospitality business teaming up with the best local food producers and suppliers can create memorable experiences that educate and delight in equal measure.

The new 2019 Georgina Campbell Spirit of ‘The European Region of Gastronomy’ Award is supported by Galway County Council.
