The Curly Organ (a.k.a Donal Mc Connon) is probably best known for his role as one of the creative forces behind local prog-folk group, My Fellow Sponges. Last year he launched his solo project by releasing 4 EPs in 4 weeks. Each release was accompanied by a launch every week in July in The Roisin Dubh and The Black Gate respectively.

For this Summer, Donal is taking on a challenge no less daring. Every Thursday (12th July – 2nd August), he will endeavour to sustain the attention of onlookers using only his voice. This weekly event will take place in one of Galway’s most under appreciated acoustic amenities, Salthill Bandstand (in the park beside Leisureland). Each concert promises to be unique and intimate with the artist exploring extended vocal techniques, lyrical improvisation and audience participation.

Concerts will start at 7pm and entry is free. Contributions (monetary/choral) are most appreciated.
